When I attended for my first time, I knew immediately that Kiremko Nacht van Woerden was special. Cyclocross at night with the cool, autumn air, the colorful lights and smoke of the fair (de kermis), and the excitement of the crowd.

This year was extra special as I attended as the photographer for the Baloise Trek Lion riders Lucinda Brand, Lars van der Haar, Pim Ronhaar and David Haverdings. It was even more exciting as Baloise Trek Lions won both elite races! Lucinda Brand won the women’s race with a thrilling competition between the top cross riders until the very end. Lars van der Haar quite handily won the men’s race, taking the win for the 8th consecutive year. David Haverdings took 3rd place, which was his first elite podium win.

While the Baloise Trek Lions were my main focus, I still managed a fun collection of photos from the night.
