World Cup - Hulst
UCI Cyclocross World Cup Hulst
A dreary day in the south of the Netherlands where riders raced around the remnants of Hulst’s 17th century defensive structures.
My main focus for this race was creating the rider profile on elite rider Niels Vandeputte. As it goes, I ran into a variety of obstacles to arrive at the race and find my footing in this new (to me) course. All of it was worth it after a great session of photographing Niels as he warmed up. You can see the full profile here.
It was an exciting day of racing especially for the elite races. Marie Schreiber and Niels Vandeputte (!!!) both won their first ever elite world cup race!! The constant rain made for challenging conditions, both to get around the muddy course full of climbs and descends and to photograph in rain and low light.
